The clients came to us with a very specific vision for their new house. The couple was looking for a contemporary farmhouse to sit on the partially wooded site on the Huron River. The exterior utilizes large windows to allow natural light to penetrate into the interior as well as to provide views through the house to the back yard. Contemporary finishes on the exterior provide a clean, sleek look to the more traditional design.

The interior features a fairly open floor plan that allows for entertaining and movement between the inside and outside spaces on the main level. A large covered porch outside the kitchen and living room provides space for outdoor cooking and entertaining with views of the river. Continuing with the modern feel of the space, material palettes were kept neutral and elements were streamlined for a contemporary look.
